Treasurer Position
The board approved the appointment of Jennifer Bova as the treasurer for the league, replacing Jessica Wagner as the previous treasurer.

Rules Discussion:
8 & Under League

• The board discussed the addition of a rule for the 8U league which will allow unlimited runs in the last inning, similar to the other age leagues.
• The board also discussed expanding the number of pitches if the batter fouls off the last pitch.   If a batter fouls off the last pitch, the batter will not be called out due to reaching the 7th pitch to a batter.

• The board agreed that the coach, who is called into pitch after a pitcher walks the 3rd batter, will be required to start pitching with at least one foot on the pitching rubber.

• Should the international tie breaker rule be used in this league.   No decision was made.

• The board felt that 2 umpires be required for the semi-final and championship games only, for the 10U, 12U, and 15U leagues.
• No time limit

Scheduling Meeting
Proposed date is March 25.   White Oak will check the the availability of their facilities.

All Star Game
Proposed date is June 6.

Insurance Certificates from Associations
The board discussed the need for the various associations participating in our league to provide certificates of insurance.

Clearances
The board discussed the need for coaches to have the necessary clearances to coach in our league.   The various associations would need to verify that their coaches have the necessary clearances.  The Eastern Fastpitch league would not require copies of those clearances.

Smoking around softball games.
Brad Yamerick brought up about smoking close to the playing fields.   After much discussion about this situation, it would be hard for an umpire or home game coach to enforce any Eastern rule regarding parents or spectators who insist on smoking close to the playing field.   Chris will check with ASA on how they handle this type of situation.

The current rule is that there is no tobacco useage inside the field, or dugout areas.
